Seminar on Pre/Post Poland Trip Education

18/11/2024
8.45am - 12.15pm
Yavneh College, Hillside Ave, Borehamwood

In this half-day seminar we will explore some core questions around Holocaust education and 6th Form Poland trips, including:

  • Why do we take students to Poland?
  • How can we best prepare them for this experience?
  • What are some practical ways to follow up on this experience and allow our students to build connections between ‘then’ and ‘now’?

Sessions will be led by Rabbi Dr Andrew Davis, Deputy Headteacher of Yavneh College, who has a PhD from UCL in Holocaust Education and by Dina Jacobson, Head of 6th Form Jewish Studies at Yavneh College, who has completed post-graduate studies at UCL on Teaching the Holocaust.

This seminar is aimed at educators who are involved in planning and/or teaching around the 6th Form Poland trips. It will be the first in a series, allowing educators the opportunity to implement learned pedagogy and to feed back on the results in subsequent sessions.

Refreshments will be provided.
