Switching Off: Supporting Your Child’s Sleep and Overactive Mind

22/04/2026
8pm
Webinar

Led by Gavin Rubenstein, Mindset Insomnia Specialist

Sleep difficulties are increasingly common in children and teenagers, particularly during times of stress, academic pressure and heightened anxiety. Gavin will explore the psychological and emotional factors that drive insomnia and poor sleep and why an overactive mind and nervous system can make it hard to fall asleep or stay asleep.

Parents will gain practical strategies to help their child:

  • Calm racing thoughts and bedtime anxiety
  • Reduce worry about not sleeping
  • Break negative associations with bedtime
  • Manage rumination and night-time panic
  • Develop healthier, more relaxed sleep habits

Drawing on research, Gavin will also discuss the link between sleep, mental wellbeing and academic performance, and offer simple tools parents can use at home to calm an overactive mind, reduce bedtime anxiety and improve sleep during times of stress and exams. Includes Q&A and take-home tools for families.
