Leadership Development

PaJeS understands that the future of our Jewish schools depends on strong and effective leadership at all levels. Our ambitious and comprehensive Leadership initiatives are designed to grow a pipeline of future Jewish school Headteachers and Senior Leaders across the UK. We offer a range of pathways designed to support you at every stage of your Jewish School Leadership journey.

National Professional Qualifications

Start your leadership journey with a National Professional Qualification. Leadership and specialist NPQ programmes have become an important part of schools’ professional development pathways and strategy, with fully funded NPQ training scholarships and financial incentives available for all state schools in England until at least February 2024.
Through our partnership with the Ambition Institute, more than 150 participants from Jewish Schools have either successfully completed or are currently undertaking one of seven NPQ courses.

"Today wasn’t only about leadership in a Jewish school setting. It was really about good leadership and career development. I feel privileged to be in a position in the Jewish education sector where such opportunities are available to me. Generations of professionals and pupils will benefit from these opportunities."

The Lira Winston Fellowship

The PaJeS Lira Winston Z”L Fellowship is an exciting and intensive two year programme for senior Jewish school leaders who aspire to become Headteachers or whole school leaders. We are delighted to have enrolled our first cohort onto this programme which begins in May 2024, aiming to equip and inspire the next generation of Headteachers for Jewish schools.  Fellows are senior leaders drawn from schools of all types across the community and the programme will expand their minds, capacities and horizons, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of School leadership.

The New Head's Development and Support Programme

Are you a new Headteacher or are you actively applying for Headship roles? PaJeS recognises the challenges that all Headteachers face, particularly as you take up your first headship. As a new headteacher, the NHDSP will provide you with a bespoke support package for at least your first two years of headship. This can commence from the beginning of your journey towards headship, including the application and interview process. The NHDSP offer includes one-to-one mentoring and one-to-one and group coaching.
