Full job description:

Gan On The Hill is a small, nurturing and caring Jewish nursery in Muswell Hill. We are independent and are seeking a dedicated and passionate Room Leader to join our lovely team. As a Room Leader, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality childcare and early education to toddlers to pre-schoolers in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. You will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, fostering children’s social and academic development, and ensuring each child’s well-being and happiness. We are looking for someone who is Level 3 qualified, knows about Safeguarding and is DBS checked. 

Duties:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities to stimulate children’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
• Provide a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes exploration, creativity, and curiosity.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff through effective communication and collaboration.
• Monitor and assess each child’s progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to support their development.
• Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, behaviour, and health to ensure individualised care and attention.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive educational experience that aligns with Gan on the Hill’s philosophy and standards.
• Demonstrate leadership skills by guiding  and supporting staff in daily activities and routines.

Experience:

• Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
• The candidate must hold a Level 3 or above qualification in Childcare or the Early Years.
• Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics while providing individualised attention to each child.
• Passion for nurturing young minds and creating a positive learning environment.
• Drive to continuously improve teaching methods and adapt to the evolving needs of children.
