As a voluntary-aided school of over 2,000 students, including a thriving Sixth Form of over 550 students, JFS is one of the top schools in the country for both attainment and progress. Recently named the ‘Sunday Times State Faith School of the Year 2025’, our students excel academically with well over 50 percent of all grades a 7+ at GCSE and nearly 60% of all grades an A or A* at A-level. We are proud of our academic outcomes which are a testament to the hard work of everyone involved, but we also recognise that grades are just one part of what an exceptional education should offer. We wish for our school to be a place where our young people grow into excellent adults, prepared for everything life might have in store for them. We want them to leave with open hearts, kind to those around them and open to all the love that the world has to offer.

Much of our students’ growth is seated in our Jewish Life programme and we are in an exciting stage of development. Having secured significant external funding, the school is in the process of redeveloping delivery in JFS through our ‘Beacon of Jewish Life’ project. Reviewing everything from curriculum to delivery, the balance between in-lesson and out-of-lesson experiences, experiential work and community involvement, we are hugely excited about the journey ahead of us and are working with some incredible people in formalising our provision. If you are equally excited to be a part of the journey, we are keen to hear from you.

As part of our Beacon of Jewish Life vision, the Chesed Activities Coordinator will help embed Chesed as a lived value across the school through the JFS Cares Hub. The role involves planning and delivering meaningful volunteering opportunities and educational experiences that foster empathy, responsibility and active contribution. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure that Jewish values are not only taught, but experienced daily through purposeful action and community engagement.

If you would like to know more about the role or arrange a visit, please don’t hesitate to get in touch using david.moody@jfs.brent.sch.uk and I would be delighted to answer any questions.
