The Director of Education is a newly created senior leadership position. This individual will lead the educational vision and provision at Gateways, with a direct focus on teaching, learning, curriculum development, and quality assurance.
As the most senior educational leader, the Director will line manage the Educational Leadership Team (ELT) — including the Head of Pastoral, SENCO, and Exams Officer and provide day-to-day leadership across the entire educational provision.
This role is pivotal in shaping Gateways’ future as a centre of excellence in alternative education, ensuring every student receives a high-quality, trauma-informed, and aspirational learning experience.
The Director of Education will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre, ensuring smooth operation and consistency across all educational activities. They will have direct oversight of all teaching staff, offering support, guidance, and leadership to ensure high-quality, engaging, and inclusive learning for every student.
This position requires an innovative and forward-thinking leader — someone who can think creatively and challenge conventional models to design and implement new and exciting ways of delivering education for the next generation.
