Yavneh College is a secondary school, is part of the Yavneh College Multi Academy Trust which includes Yavneh Primary School and is based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. Established in 2006, the state-of-the-art campus for 1,000 pupils is situated on a 13-acre site. The school admits 150 children into Year 7. There are specialist suites for Music, Drama, Science, Design Technology, Art, ICT and Business. Sports facilities include a large sports hall, aerobics & dance studio, outdoor multi-use games courts and 9 acres of playing fields.
Boys and girls are taught together. Yavneh has a modern orthodox outlook aiming to “produce young people who are proud of their Jewish heritage, confident in their religious practice and equipped with the academic qualifications and wider key skills necessary for success in today’s employment market”.
Pupils are set individual targets for every academic subject. Pupils are carefully monitored and guided so that they reach their full potential and are happy and settled at school. Yavneh College is regularly one of the highest performing non selective state schools in the UK.
Jewish values pervade the life of the school, with text-based Jewish Studies lessons complemented by a stimulating programme of informal Jewish education and cultural and communal activities.
