Over the last 20 years, Nancy Reuben Primary School has established itself as a high achieving Independent Modern Orthodox Jewish School for boys and girls aged 2-11. The school is well-known for its unique warm, nurturing and special community feel. Our school serves a NW London catchment and pupils come from areas including Hendon, Golders Green, Edgware, Borehamwood, Finchley, the Suburb and our families are from both Ashkenazi and Sefardi backgrounds. Our families are all Shomrei Shabbat and kashrut.
At age 11, our children transfer to secondary schools of choice including Hasmonean High School (Boys and Girls), Immanuel College, JfS, Yavne College and Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School and Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls. Nancy Reuben Primary School is a member of Independent Schools Association (ISA). ISA accreditation is only awarded to Head Teachers if their school meets the highest standards.
Our pupils’ excellent attainment allows them to go successfully onto secondary schools of choice. Our Summer 2020 cohort of Year 6 pupils transferred to Hasmonean High School Multi Academy Trust for Boys and Girls, Immanuel College, JfS, Yavne College and Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School and Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls. In 2020 several pupils were awarded scholarships.
The secular and Kodesh Curricula are broad and offer a rich mix of formal and informal learning opportunities through the year. Our Year 5 class won the National Jewish Primary School inter-school Etgar (Jewish General Knowledge) Competition in Summer 2020.
As a JNF Partner school, we offer exceptional opportunities promoting Israel Education. In 2018 we launched an innovative 1:1 Ipad Initiative in 3 classes to bring outstanding computing and technological opportunities to our pupils. Our children are offered Lego Robotics and Drone workshops.
In June 2019, our Year 6 class went to Rome where they explored the convergence of Jewish history with classical antiquity with visits to the Colosseum, the Piazzas, The Great Synagogue, the Ghetto, The Arch of Titus as well as meeting up with students from the Jewish School in Rome.
Pupils’ good mental health and well-being is a high priority at NRPS and as such, we have a number of projects running through the year to support our pupils.
