King David Primary School is a voluntary aided co-educational academy. It is part of the King David Campus in the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester, and most pupils are from the surrounding areas of Prestwich, Whitefield, Salford and Bury. There are 440 pupils in the Pre-School Nursery to Year 6. The school serves Jewish families from a broad spectrum of Jewish knowledge and observance. King David Primary School is founded on traditional Jewish values with a belief in respect, courtesy, self-discipline and the pursuit of excellence. In March 2016 King David Primary School was judged by Ofsted as Outstanding in every area of the Inspection framework. The Inspectors said “Every child’s success is at the heart of all the school does.” The school was inspected by Pikuach in February 2018 and again achieved Outstanding in every category. This report states: “The school’s Jewish Studies curriculum, both formal and informal, provides memorable experiences and rich opportunities for high-quality learning and wider personal development and well-being. There are excellent systems in place which ensure that all pupils have high levels of literacy in Hebrew appropriate to their age and in line with the school’s stated aims.”
