The school opened in September 1999 and is a one form entry Primary School. We have one class for each year group (8 in all) with up to 30 children in each class. We have a wonderful Nursery and extremely popular afternoon playgroup for our Nursery children. We have an innovative Reception class from where the children move through the classes to Year 6. The children are allocated to classes by age; the cut off point for each class is 31 August.
We teach the full National Curriculum (English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Design and Technology, Art, Music, Physical Education and Information and Communication Technology), together with a Jewish Studies Curriculum. Hebrew is taught as a Modern Foreign Language and the children cover many other religions in Religious Education. We are fully resourced for all these curriculum areas, including up-to-date computer equipment, interactive whiteboards in the classrooms and laptops, IPads and PC’s.
Clore Shalom School is a voluntary aided primary day school that serves the local and wider Jewish community. The school is supported by the Reform, Liberal and Masorti Jewish Movements.
It provides a warm, joyful and supportive Jewish community for the entire staffing body, students and parents, encouraging life long learning and commitment to Jewish values.
The school offers primary education at the highest possible standard, seeking to enable children of all abilities to achieve their full potential in all curriculum areas including spiritual, moral, social and cultural. We support collaborative learning as well as differentiation by ability and value experiential and creative learning.
