What we do
WIZO (the Women’s International Zionist Organisation) was established in 1918 in the UK by Rebecca Sieff and Vera Weizmann and today is the leading social welfare charity working with the Israeli government.
For over 95 years, WIZO has been a lifeline for thousands of vulnerable people where one in three children live below the poverty line.
WIZO supports over 800 dynamic projects in Israel covering all life stages from babies to the elderly.
WIZO provides vital services and programmes to all citizens regardless of race or religion.
Projects include day care centres where babies and children receive an education, therapy and hot meals; vocational schools and youth villages that care for at risk teenagers; community centres that support single parent families and the elderly; and protected shelters for women and children who have suffered abuse.
WIZO’s ethos is to equip individuals with the skills to enable them to improve their lives and in turn build a better Israel.
WIZO has fundraising groups in 50 countries across the globe comprising 250,000 active members; WIZOUK has 85 fundraising groups and thousands of supporters.

“I just spoke to one of the J-Soc Chairs from Highgate who said they really enjoyed the session and how interactive it was, plus they thought the video was very interesting. Sounds like it was a great assembly!” Debra Green, IJAMS
