This session will be dedicated to the Bell Review, its impact on Jewish schools, and the work being done to address antisemitism across our school communities.
As part of its ongoing engagement with the Jewish community, the Department for Education will be joining us. Jake Butterworth, who led the secretariat for the Review, will present it, talk through its recommendations and what they mean for schools, and then open the floor for questions.
The evening will also look at what the Review means for Jewish schools in particular, and how PaJeS and our partners are working to support school leaders, staff and pupils in the current climate.
This is a valuable opportunity to engage directly with those leading this work. Come with your questions, concerns and reflections, whether about the Review itself, the government’s response, or the challenges facing your school.

Jake Butterworth is the Department for Education’s Head of Tackling Hatred and Promoting Cohesion. His work focuses on addressing hatred, promoting social cohesion and resilience in schools, and he recently led the secretariat for Sir David Bell’s independent review into antisemitism in schools and colleges.
