The Amichai School is a growing private Israeli-Jewish bilingual (Hebrew/English) elementary school opening in Tel Aviv this Fall (2026). Our school seeks to cultivate curious, creative, and critical thinkers with a strong sense of identity and responsibility to their community, Israel and the world.

At Amichai, students learn through inquiry, exploration and real-world application, alongside strong academic foundations in literacy, mathematics, science, and cultural studies. Israeli and Jewish learning, approached in an open and pluralistic way, along with the Arts and Movement are integral pillars of our curriculum and small class sizes, individualized attention, and a warm community are at the heart of our approach.

We are seeking an Educational Director to join the founding team and serve as the educational architect and cultural leader of the school, responsible for shaping pedagogy, building the founding faculty team, establishing academic systems, and partnering closely with the founders to bring the school to life from its earliest stages through opening and beyond.

This role offers a rare opportunity to build a school from the ground up, defining its identity, norms, learning model, and community culture from day one.

  • Work closely with families to build a strong and trusting school community
  • Lead student recruitment and admissions efforts
  • Oversee student culture, safety and well-being
  • Collaborate with the leadership team in launching a new institution from the ground up

Who we are looking for

  • Proven leadership experience in innovative educational settings
  • Deep understanding of inquiry-driven and mastery-based learning
  • Experience developing comprehensive programming that integrates the arts, music, movement, theater and physical education

  • Entrepreneurial spirit — excitement about building something new
  • Connection to Jewish-Israeli culture and values
